Is it possible to install/configure Infopath without mode designer

P

Patrick

Can Infopath be installed/configure only without the mode designer ? If
someone can tell me what register keys are used for this mode, it'll be a
great help for me :::))))

Or is there a version without designer mode for Infopath ?

Thx a lot.

Hi Patrick,

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to install InfoPath without
the designer capabilities; however, I am speculating that what you are
trying to do is not allow changes to be made to a template (XSN) that you
have created - is this correct? If so, you can disallow changes by doing
the following in your template:

- Open your template (XSN) in Design View
- From the Tools menu choose Form Options
- Select the General tab
- Enable the option: Enable Protection

I hope this helps!

You can also use the Custom Installation Wizard that comes with the
Microsoft Office 2003 Resource Kit to create a custom install of InfoPath.
One of the options for InfoPath in the Custom Installation Wizard is to
Disable InfoPath Designer Mode. It is also possible to use System Policy via
the Group Policy Editor to securely lock out users from ever using the
designer.
