Is it possible to make a unattended installation of Office 97 sr2(pro)?

E

Egil Hansen

Hi

Simple question:

Is it possible to make a unattended installation of Office 97 sr2 (pro)?
And if so, how do I do it?

Regards, Egil.

Hi Egil:

I was certain if you wanted to install SR2 patch
unattended or you had patched an admin install point of
Office 97 to SR2 level.

Let's say you applied SR2 to the admin install point
(AIP), the you can install Office 97 with the following
switches:

<network location of Office 97 AIP> setup.exe /b1 /c
Product code (or key) /qn1 /gc C:\install.log

/b number Bypasses the Microsoft Office 97 Setup dialog
box by selecting the type of installation:
/b 1 : Typical

/c "number" Bypasses the dialog box where you type the 20-
character Product ID from the OEM Certificate of
Authorization for validation. Instead, this option uses
the number that you specify.

/qn{option} Does the same as /q, except that the computer
is not restarted and 0 is not a valid value. To suppress
all dialog boxes except the final one, use /qn with no
argument.
0 Suppresses all dialog boxes except the final one. Using
0 is the same as using no argument.
1 Suppresses all dialog boxes, including the final one.
t Suppresses all Setup user interface elements.

If you want to apply the SR2 patch to workstations then
you would need to follow the 2 articles on how to apply
it to machines:

Hope this helps!
