Is it possible to play a DVD in PowerPoint

I would like to play a DVD within a PowerPoint slide. Is
there a way to do this without having to purchase an add-
on?

What software do you have on your system which will play DVD? You might
try using Insert/Object/From File and see if that player will come up.
