Is it possible to recreate this excel chart in PowerPoint?

PPT doesn't do individual error bars, which are how the confidence intervals
(or whatever those are -- maybe standard deviation?) on this chart were
probably created.

In PPT, you might be able to do it in a hi-low stock chart and then rotate
the chart, but it would be tedious, and you might have issues with the text
rotation.

All in all, Excel is the best tool for this chart. It would be very hard to
do -- I'd say close to impossible -- in PPT's MS Graph. Of course, you could
always do the line graph in PPT and then draw the error bars manually. (But
ewwww, *not* the way I'd want to do it!)

The example is built using xy scatter series.

Although it is possible in msgraph the suggestions to use excel are much
more sensible. Especially if you need to calculate the +/- values for
your error bars.

WOW. Cool Chart Andy.
Here is an interesting observation: Open the file with ppt 2007 and edit
the data source. Guess what happens? It opens Excel. It also shows the
default PPT 2007 charting tabs suggesting that it internally upgraded
the MS Graph chart to a full-fledged Office 2007 chart.

Yeah, charting in PPT 2007 is a lot different under the hood. I'm glad to
hear 2007 is updating the 2003 charts properly.

Thanks, glad you all like it.

The 2007 conversion worked for me, which was nice. But once it became a
2007 chart it started to mis behave.

Also I had a look at the data store in excel and because I didn't close
excel in the correct way the next time I opened the ppt file it remained
a msgraph.

I think I maybe able to use this example to report a few more bugs!
