Is it possible to use Project Professional with only intranet?

Project Web Access is the Web portal that enables you to connect to the
project and resource information that is stored in Project Server and
collaborate on projects.
The co would like to use MS Project but it is restrict to use it with
intranet not extranet. Is that possible?

I'm am afraid this is not a Project related issue. It will all depend on the
access authorizations and configuration of the server you will use ot host
Project Server. You sure can limit access to this server to Intranet users.
You have multiple ways to do this and (depending on your company's internal
technical knowledge) you might have to call a consultant to get an advice on
this.
