Is mail merge available for PowerPoint?

I would like to use a template PowerPoint presentation for a class I am teaching. I need to be able to have one slide change names of students who will assist me in the class. It would be great to automate this if possible. Can anyone help me?

If you have access to the Windows version of PPT, we have a commercial add-in that does just this.

There's a free demo but unfortunately, there's no Mac version.
