We are currently using quickbooks for our small church. Is microsoft small
business suitable for church accounting? We do not need inventory and other
retail reporting that normal business's use.

If you are satisfied with QuickBooks, why consider switching to a new
program?

We're in a similar boat. Currently we're using QuickBooks Basic for
accounting and a kludge called PowerChurch to track individual giving,
membership and attendance. We're really like to have one integrated
tool. We're thinking of either upgrading to QuickBooks Premier
Nonprofit Edition or to MS Small Business Accounting (donated by a
church member). I'm quite interested in other peoples ideas on the
subject.

The main problem with soliciting other people's opinions is that their usage
of the program may be for an entirely separate set of circumstances that
have no relation to yours. Therefore, their recommendations would not be of
particular use except for those comments on ease of use, help availability,
configuration ease or lack thereof, etc.

As to program specifics, you are probably better off installing a trial
version and seeing for yourself or use the program that was donated to your
organization.
