is not a valid web archive

While trying to insert a text file into word I get an error message "not a
valid web archive"
I used to be able to do it in an earlier version of Word but having upgraded
I now can't. Any ideas

If I open it in notepad, I can cut and paste, but I had a macro to automate
it.

Are you trying to insert it using Insert/File?

Also, what happens if you go to Tools/Options/General and turn on
"Confirm conversions at Open" and then try to insert the file? I'm
wondering if there is something in the text file that Word is
misinterpreting and is trying to use the wrong converter.
