J

J Allen

I currently use Windows ME with the Office 2000 Small
Business Edition. I would like to know if Office 2000 is
compatible with Windows XP Pro and Windows XP Home Edition?

Hi J -

Yes, Office 2000 is absolutely compatible with Windows XP. Please see the
following article for more information on the system requirements of Office.

ON that page it also states:
"Sixteen (16) MB of RAM is required for the operating system, plus an
additional 4 MB of RAM for each program running simultaneously"!
Ha! Just try and run any version of Windows with that little RAM.

Kristyn,
Isn't also true that SBE cannot be transferred? It isn't clear whether the OP
wants to upgrade or move to a new computer with XP, but I think that this
potential complication should be mentioned.

Office 2000 SBE was offered both as a Retail and OEM product. Office XP SBE
was only OEM.
