Since the onenote beta is no longer available for download, can I buy the
2007 version? I had to change computers and I want to use 2007 on my new
computer.

This is not really an answer, but a related problem:
I have been using the OneNote beta for half a year now. I recently had to
wipe out my machine and while I still HAVE all my one not pages, I can no
longer find the original PROGRAM. I do have OneNote 2003, but of course it
will not open the newer files. It is no longer available as a download and
the "real" version will not be out for months. Any advice on how I can get
another copy to tide me over?

I don't know if I'd characterize it as being "held hostage". The beta is
pretty much over and MS is no longer accepting new participants. It
makes sense that access to the beta materials would end when the product
goes RTM.

The next time you try beta software, be sure to immediately archive the
materials (including any readme files and product keys) onto a CD to
prevent this in the future. I've also recently switched to a new
computer and was able to install Ofc07 from my archives.

Thanks for the reply. rrrgh! Once again held hostage by Microsoft.

Well, YES, I already know that I"ve made a serious error. I DO back
everything all the time. This one escaped. I was hoping some nice person like
you would forward an archive version to me--as I understand it, the beta
release will become read-only once the real version is released, so what does
MS have to lose?

I have read the following recently.
"Microsoft will also make available downloadable 60-day trial versions of
Office 2007 products starting on December 1st in the US and Canada.
