is outlook 2002 compatible with office 2007?

I already have Outlook 2002 but am thinking of upgrading to Office 2007.
Unfortunately, the Home and Student pack doesn't come with Outlook, so will i
still be able to run Outlook 2002 alongside it?

Yes but some features wont work correctly. If you upgrade to Windows 7 (or
Vista) Outlook 2002 will have issues.

My recommendation is office standard or Small Business then the free upgrade
to Office 2010. Small Business is the best investment since it gets you
Office Pro 2010

Yes, although integration features such as Mail Merge and using Word as your
email editor will no longer work.
Also note that Outlook 2002 is no longer a supported version of Outlook by
Microsoft and is not (fully) supported by Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Since Office 2010 is freely available now as a BETA version, you might want
to consider using that until summer (when Office 2010 gets released
officially) and then get an Office 2010 Home and Business license which does
include Outlook 2010;

Besides the loss of integration features already mentioned by others, you
will also not be able to save login credentials for your e-mail accounts.
You will have to login to your e-mail accounts ech time you you start
Outlook. That is *if* you use Windows Vista, or later. You never mentioned
WHICH version of Windows that you use or plan to use.
