Is PowerPoint Unstable sometimes or Is my PP glitching other peopl

I copy powerpoint presentations onto CD. Some slides play MIDI files (simple
nursery rhyme tunes) All work fine on CD. Three times in six months I've sent
CDs to friends and the music won't work. I know it DID work and the CD will
work on their laptop but not their computer or vice versa!!!
I've solved it by talking them through system restore BUT I'm getting
paranoid.
Is it just a glitch? A coincidence? (same thing happened to my PowerPoint a
year ago) or something more sinister???
Have a good virus prog that regularly updates. Use PowerPoint 2000 and it's
on Window XP. Please help me to regain calm :)

I'm guessing that it could be software that has since been updated in some
way.

eg a new version of quicktime or windows media player being installed

This can throw things out - something that used to work just fine suddenly
stops working.

That rings true with the system restore.

Thanks for replying - I feel a little bit better :)

Do you mean my software or theirs???

It's not happening to everyone I send these CDs out to (and I send a fair
few) BUT three times in not too many months (after two years of no probs) is
really making me nervous!

I'd hate to think MY CD was messing up THEIR PowerPoint :-(
