I am about to do a destructive recovery and will need to reinstall my
Microsoft Office.
Currently, under Help in Microsoft Word, a window appears stating this
product is licensed to me and gives a product ID. Is that the license key I
will need for reinstallation?

No, the installation key is normally on a yellow/orange sticker on the back of the CD case or the box containng the product. The PID is the result of Microsoft parsing this key and cannot be used for reinstallation.

Locate your CD case and make sure you have the Installation Code.

If it is not an OEM edition of Office, you can download Belarc Advisor
and it will tell you the product key that was used to install Office.

Thanks, Brian. This is the first new lead anyone has given me. I'm not very
computer-savvy, so I appreciate both you and Millie responding. I downloaded
Office from an online vendor and did not get a CD. I'm assuming that was a
big (naive) mistake? As soon as I post this reply, I'll search the web for
Belarc Advisor. Thanks, again.
