We're considering the use of Project Server and would appreciate some
advice.
We've had comments from suppliers suggesting that Project Server is:
(1) overly complicated to install and configure, requiring dedicated
consultants to perform the work
(2) poor at co-existing with other web applications on the same
server, meaning that a separate server is recommended even for small
installations
Has anybody run into these issues? Or is it just a case of suppliers
exaggerating the problems in the hope of selling more consultancy
services and hardware?
At this stage, our needs are pretty basic. We have about 8 Project
Professional users and we're interested in getting the schedules into
a central repository so that we can produce a consolidated schedule
for the entire department. We have another 8 users who might want to
view schedules occasionally via Project Web Access. Is there any
reason why this wouldn't be easy to achieve?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.
