Is Publisher 2003 compatible with my new printer ?

D

Darryl.

I have a new HP Officejet pro K5400 printer that does not print out my
booklet correctly that I have on publisher 2003. I have downloaded the most
up-dated driver from HP, still does not line up. On my old HP Officejet 6210
I had no problems, I just can't seem to find the correct driver. I spoke to
HP tec service and they suggested that Publisher is not used very much these
days and some printers are not compatible with it ? I can't beleive this is
true.
Anybody got any suggestions ......please !!!

When you say *does not line up*, what do you mean? Publisher, especially
Publisher 2003, does not have printer issues. The HP tech is sending you down a
primrose path. Are you trying to print borderless? Are you changing the booklet
margins to accommodate the new settings. Publisher prints the way the driver is
setup. It could be the publication has the old settings embedded.

You might want to read some of the troubleshooting articles from HP:

Thank you for the reply Mary.
When I print out my broucher the left side of the page is cut off. I have
changed nothing with the broucher or the publisher program, just got a new
printer. On the print preview it showes the cut off copy, drives me crazy I
have tried all the settings that come with the driver.

Did you check to see if your driver is current? Just because the printer is new
doesn't mean the driver is current. There is a driver on the HP web site with a
November 2007 timestamp.

There is a removal utility as well, it is always best to completely remove a
driver before installing/re-installing.

Are you selecting *borderless*? Might try specifying photo paper. I usually save
anything I want to print borderless as a picture and then use the HP software to
print.
