Is remote mdb administration possible?

I am looking to move my webserver offsite, but am worried
about how I would admin my .mdb database.

I currently host my site on a server which is in my local
network. I currently open my .mdb database over a
network share so I can edit it on my local computer in
the MS Office program ACCESS.

My question is will I still be able to open my .mdb
database in ACCESS when the database is on an offsite
webserver? And if so how, I can't find any information
on this on the net or in ACCESS?

Or would I have to download it to my computer, make
changes, and then upload it?

(I am very proficient in ASP, programming, C++, etc, so
feel free to use very technical terms)

I use the Remote Access Client App. to connect to the server and then, I
have full control and just run the access app on that system.
