Is Sharing Licences possible?

Good morning,
I work in an engineering consulting company with around 200 engineers and we
are starting to use MsProject to manage our projects all together (with
Server, Web Access etc).

The thing is that we have many project managers that will use MsProject only
once or twice a week, after their Project starts.

Is it possible to share MsProject licenses thru our network? For instance,
we have 50 licenses for our CAD program, but more 100 people can use them, as
long as only 50 use them at the same time. Can we do the same with MsProject
Professional 2003?

How is this “Microsoflty†called? Network license? License sharing? Volume
Licenses?

Who should I contact in order to install this? My national Microsoft
representative?

Thank you very much

I doubt this is possible, but I'm not an expert on Microsoft licensing.
Please contact your Microsoft sales representative for a definitive answer.

Thank you Dale,
I gave a call to the national Microsoft HQ and they confirmed: 1 license = 1
computer/machine.

For Micrsosft there is no such thing as "virtual" or "network" licenses.

The only thing I learned is that if my enterprise buys a number of licenses,
these can be fiscally installed in any computer of the company, so I can swop
the computer they are in, but it requires the whole uninstall/install
process, which simply doesn't fit me.

Thank you for your help.

You are more than welcome for the help, my friend. And thanks for sharing
what you learned from Microsoft. :)

How about swapping the user on and off the computer rather than swapping the
software from user to user workstation? Install the software on 1
workstation and let multiple users take turns using it?

Steve, that sounds like the most logical approach to the problem. It solves
the license limitation issue, and the project managers should be able to book
time they need to use MS Project on existing computers by quick communication
with the regular user of the pc.
