Is text wrapped in a table's cell

Hi all,

I need to fill all 1st columns of tables with training dots up to the point
where the text doesn't wrap (i.e. to rightmost - as if a Tab Leader).

It there a way to check if text in table cell causes this cell to wrap ?

Thanks so much!!!

Why not use a Tab Leader to achieve it?

Hi Doug, thanks for youre reply.
In thruth, there already is text in the 1st column of tables, plus, there
also are trailing dots, but this it's all a mess - some cells even have too
many dots cousing them to wrap. So, if I knew if text caused the wrap, I
could remove excess right dots (and since I'm at this fill in cells whose
text's right dots don't go all the way to the end of the cell). JS

Use Edit>Replace with the Wildcard box checked to replace

[.]{2,}

with

^t

the select the cells in the column and insert a tabstop with a leader.

Hi Doug, thanks for your suggestion.
However, it didn't work the way I expected (if found dots+tab, but not just
a series of consecutive dots to the right in cells). Also, ther are other
reasons I'd like to know if the length of a text is causing wrapping in a
table cell - I tried playing around with TextWrap Property but as far as I
can see it doen't work in tables. Would you have any other idea?
Again, thanks for you time and attention. JS
