Is the download of the new IE 7.0 Beta making my system sluggish .

I know this isn't an Office issue but this is where I ended up on the
community so here goes: Please anyone help if u can......

Since I downloaded the new IE 7.0 Beta 3, i think it's called, my whole
computer system has totally slowed down, almost grinded to a halt and I use
cable internet so it should not be this slow. I tried to remember anything
else I have downloaded that may have caused the problem, but I cannot
remember doing anything else to my system after I downloaded IE 7. I'm
wondering should I take my Windows XP using the System Restore Feature and
restore it to a prior point when my system was running better using just IE
6.0 sp2 and see if that fixes the problem? (if i use system restore, would it
take my system back to using IE6.0 sp2 or keep the newer IE 7.0 beta
version????, I'm not certain????)

Any suggestions or support for this problem? Are there other things that I
can check/scan or download to see what is making my Internet and my computer
run so slowly. Just to clarify this problem, it seems that it takes forever
just to open any page on the internet, any regular program I use like
"control panel, etc." or anything else, it's just as slow as it can be and
has NEVER been this slow before???). If I am remembering properly, (which is
questionable at my age!), this started when I began using the new IE 7.0 Beta
3. I did chose the download for my Windows XP service pack 2.

I just can't figure out what else to check ? Could someone send me a list
of things to check or to do to find the problem? It could be something that
I am not even aware of so I guess I'm lost here... I would appreciate any
help at all.

Thanks so much everyone....

This is an Office related newsgroup and those who will be able to help
you better will be found in the Windows newsgroups. Here's a link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...er.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsxp.general

Also, for other Microsoft Product other than Office or Windows, if you
go to microsoft.com and select a specific product you should find some
type of Communities link that will point you in the right direction.
:)

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.

If you used the default newsreader outlook express newreader and connected
to the msnews.microsoft.com news server you might more easily have found all
the MS news groups.
I would imagine this Q belongs on the IE ng's
Try restore to a pre beta date

"DIDN'T I SAY WHEN I FIRST BEGAN SPEAKING ON MY POST THAT I KNEW THIS WAS NOT
AN OFFICE ISSUE AND THAT I WAS SURE I WAS POSTING IN THE WRONG PLACE ?????

(I am new to these postings and not yet quite sure how to navigate around
but that's no reason for u to not answer my question is it?).

GEEZ, SEEMS LIKE SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T "REALLY READ" WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.
I WILL GO TO THE NEWSGROUP AND MAYBE GET THE HELP I NEED THERE. IT WOULD
SEEM TO ME THO, THAT IF U KNOW HOW TO HELP ME THAT YOU COULD DO SO JUST AS
EASILY INSTEAD OF DIRECTING ME SOMEWHERE ELSE AND TAKE UP MORE OF MY AND
SOMEONE ELSE'S TIME WHEN IT ISN'T REALLY NECESSARY AT ALL. I'LL BE CERTAIN
TO POST IN THE RIGHT PLACE NEXT TIME, YOU CAN BET YOUR SWEET PATOOTIE ON
THAT.... (THAT'S ALL I'VE HEARD FROM REPLIES IS THAT I POSTED IN THE WRONG
PLACE, FORGIVE ME, I AM A HUMAN BEING WHO IS FALLIBLE........)

Yes, you did, and now you're shouting. The point is that saying you know
you're doing something wrong doesn't make it any less wrong, nor will it
make the IE experts magically appear. If you want useful advice on IE,
you need to go where the people who know IE are. Those who responded to
your post were trying to help in the best way they could. Behaving like a
spoiled brat won't help.

There is a specific group designated for IE 7 betas. I'm not positive,
but I believe it's microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general.

If I knowingly walked into a men's clothing store asking for a woman's dress
I would be thankful they gave me directions to a woman's clothing store and
for taking the time to provide me with a map to their location - I certainly
wouldn't yell at them because they simply don't have woman's dresses.

The newsgroups are very similar, those who are knowledgeable hang out in the
newsgroups that is related to the subject of their knowledge. If I had a
question about IE 7 then I would post my question in a newsgroup where I
would find the most knowledgeable folks on IE 7 by finding a newsgroup
specific to my question.

Also, since you are new to newsgroups and are using the web interface on
Microsoft's web site to access them, perhaps you should read their Rules of
Conduct:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/conduct/default.mspx#EMC
