Is the serial number important?

Hello! I have no idea whether this is something I need to
be concerned about, but the problem is really bugging me.
I bought Microsoft Office XP a couple of days ago,
installed it, and lost this PIN/Serial number that was on
the plastic wrapping of the bag that contained 3 CD's. So
far I've only installed the first CD, which I have no
complaints about. I want to know if I will need the
number if I choose to install the other two disks (which
contain clip art, etc.). Who can I call to get that
number??? I really want to have it for my records. I
would greatly appreciate any help I can get about this!

If yr talking about the Activation Key, generally on orange
label,accompanied by words 'do not lose' then yes you need it. If youve lost
it you'll have to phone MS for another

http://www.magicaljellybean.com has a free utility that will let you
retrieve your Product ID from the registry. Once you have it, I suggest
writing it down on a label and affix it to your Office CD case.
