Is there a 2008 version of Office 2007's "Mini Toolbar"?

I haven't noticed one yet, so it's possible I've got it turned off (I'm not at my Mac, so I can't check). I liked the little dialogu box that barely appeared when you highlighted a word but that would become opque when you moused over it with basic formatting options. Does Office 08 have this?

I think you're the first person I have ever met who LIKES the Floatie :)

Yes, Office 2008 has it, but there's not much on it. In most cases, you
will do better with a right-click...

In Word>Preferences>Edit, make sure you have "Show paste options buttons"
turned on. That's it. Whether it appears or not, depends a bit on the
settings you make under Smart Cut and Paste.

Hope this helps

Nah - that ain't what they mean, John:)

The gizmo they're looking for is the "Mini Toolbar" which has a number of
the same features as the Formatting Toolbar - Fonts List, Bold, Italic, etc.
In 2007 it appears as a ghost when you hover over *any* selected text
regardless of where it came from or how it got there, not just pasted stuff.

Thankfully it hasn't made it to Mac Office & I doubt you've seen it on the
PC more than ONCE, whereupon you banished it to the bowels of purgatory &
blotted it from your mind forever... And rightly so:)

Haters, both of you ;)

And yes, what CyberTaz is talking bout is what I mean. (And I have to agree with John on the travesty that is the Paste Options button. Horrible. Just horrible.)

Hi Bob:

Yeah, I knew what he wanted. :)

And you're right. I did see it "once".... Since this is a family radio
station, I should not discuss my opinion of the Floatie :)

I am hoping the Mac version does not grow hair and teeth...

Cheers
