Is there a global "Always show Full Menus" switch?

G'day all;

Is there a global switch that I can set/clear/demolish that will be set to
ALWAYS show all menu items? This used to be the case for all of my Office
products, but for some reason, of late, this setting has been altered.
Since I didn't intentionally change that, my guess is that either an update
or my fumble-fingering seems to be behind that deed.

The typical "Tools -> Customize, check on "Always show full menus" works,
but only for that instance of the tool. Rebooting or opening another office
product (like Word) always brings up those *&^%$#@!~ maddening, shortened
menus.

I don't know if this matters, but the "Show Standard and Formatting toolbars
on two rows" option box, while checked, is grayed out. I don't recall that
being the case in the past.

Any help would be most appreciated...

Best regards,

Hi DustyB,

Go into Tools|Customise|Options and uncheck the 'menus show recently used commands first' option.

G'day "macropod" & all;

I would if I could. But there's no such option. You weren't very specific,
so I checked both Outlook and Word. Is there some other place I should be
checking...?

FWIW; I'm running Office 2003 on XP Media Center, SP3.
