Is There a Limit on the Length of a Word Document?

A

A Baffled User

I am writing a book that presently consists of two large Word 2000 files,
one 124 pages long, the other 98. I'm worried that my files might get so
large that something bad will happen to them. Does anyone know if there's
any danger of that?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to convert these long files into
a so-called Master Document, which would have chapter-like subdocuments. I
have tried to follow the instructions available under Help, but they don't
seem to bear any relation to what happens in my actual document when I do
what I am told to do.

Many thanks for any help!

Joan
