Is there a limit to embedded objects?

I am embedding files into a workbook. With the last one I tried to embed
(and a few others since) I get the error message "Cannot insert Object" I
have searched help extensively, but to no avail. File size overall shouldn't
be an issue - currently around 6 MB - big, yes, but not outrageously so.
