Is there a limit to the number of resources for a task?

Is there a limit to the number of resources that can be assigned to a single
task?

We were working under early guidance that there is some kind of safe
maximum of ten resources to a task, or a limit of 1024 characters to the
list of resource names.

Joel, I dont think there is, but the easiest way to find out is, if you try
to assign the resources to a task and test it.

Joel:

This is a common misconception related to Project's long-time poor design of
the default Gantt chart view. People who are not properly trained in the
software immediately assume that assigning resources should be done by using
the Resource Name pick list in the Gantt Chart view. Because this field view
stops at 256 characters, people also assume that there's a character limit
to resource assignments. Assigning resources this way leads to all kinds of
frustrations and the development of further misconceptions.

tasks to limit the number of resources assigned to admin-type tasks. Thanks
