Is there a normal for Excel?

I would like for my new blank documents to be 125% view.

How do I do this?

With word, it's so simple, I open normal. What about excel? Why doesn't
excel have a normal document?

You've been told more than once what the Excel equivalent of Normal is.

Instead of "Normal", it's "Workbook" (no quotes, no extension). Save it
*as a template* (xlt or xltx) in the Excel Startup folder (by default,

/Applications/Microsoft Excel 200x/Office/Startup/Excel/

but you can change it in Preferences/General).

JE, yes I know, but I've been trying this and not working.
Can I change this to 125% view and have it stick?

Maybe that cannot be done.

Don't tease me, what am I doing wrong. I have that file, I'm adjusting to
125% not sticking.

Not teasing.

I can't see from here what you're doing wrong. If you do what I and
others have written, it should 'stick'. If it doesn't stick, either
you're not doing it the way it was written, or there's something else
about your setup that you've not shared.

I changed it to 125%, kept it looking just as it is, template. Does not
work, actually gets worse, goes from normal view to page view and stays at
100%

Open Excel set page orientation as needed. adjust the width and height
to fill screen with Drag box (looks like /// in bottom right corner)

Go to view menu > Zoom if you want to fill screen try values in custom
Box until you can just barely see both sides (for portrait). On a 17"
wide Monitor (PowerBook 17") 218% is just right. Value you use is
according to your screen.

close zoom setup.

Now save and give workbook a name (when saving). When you finish
dismiss the work book. Close Excel now open excel by either opening
Excel and choosing file or Double clicking file. Should open to desired
width.

If you want just standardized zoom levels just open the Zoom menu item
as above and choose 100 150 200 close the follow rest of instructions as
above. The zoom level won't be set until you save after setting from
this menu. setting through the button on the toolbars is just temporary.

Philip you lost me.
I did what you said, made a large workbook at 125%
I did save as, called it test, to desktop.
Quit, reopen excel.
All new workbooks are small and at 100%
