Ive got the hang of creating Tables, Forms and Reports in Access 2007 now.

However Im finding myself struggling when trying to create queries from
scratch.

Can anyone recommend any free online resources that will basically take me
from zero to hero in the realm of creating queries.

Also any books / courses etc.

Basically im pretty clueless at the moment but want to reach an advanced level

There are lots of resources in general, but not all that many specifically for
SQL:

Jeff Conrad's resources page:

The Access Web resources page:

A free tutorial written by Crystal (MS Access MVP):

MVP Allen Browne's tutorials:

One of the best books on the subject is the "mere mortals" book Douglas
recommended; it's sort of a reply to Joe Celko's masterful (albeit dense and
idiosyncratic) SQL For Smarties. Rebecca Riordan's "Designing Relational
Database Systems" is another masterpiece but I'm not sure it's still in print.

Two editions were published by two different publishers. The "essence" is
the same, so the MS Press edition (the first) is certainly still correct and
accurate. There are copies of the Addison-Wesley edition (the second)
available at http://www.half.ebay.com -- at bargain prices for brand new
books, it seemed to me.

In the "interim" between the two editions, used copies were selling on eBay
with prices in the hundreds of dollars per copy.
