Is there a program or procedure to scan a form into Word and edit.

I am trying to scan a preprinted form (with OCR) and edit it in Word. Does
anyone know of a program or a procedure that will work? I can get it to open
in Word but the formatting is gone. By the time I complete the formatting
and corrections, I could have inputted the form myself. Any and all help
will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance. jdpen2

By the way, I am running Windows XP and Office XP. Using a Brother 3100C
scanner and an old Easyphoto Imagewave flatbed scanner. Hope this helps.

You asked your question in an Access group - which has very little to do with
Word. You might try asking your question in a Word group.

That said -
There are lots of OCR programs, some work better that others in retaining
the original formtting. The older and less expensive the OCR program is, the
less likely you'll retain the formatting. You may have all you're going to
get out of your OCR program.
