I am trying to save a small spreadsheet of names and addresses etc as acsv file to export into my mac address book, but excel seems to save all the empty cells as well as the ones with text in, resulting in a massive file that wont import into address book - everything slows down and stops.

is there a simple way to get data from an excel spreadsheet into mac address book?

Thanks

This should work fine. Try DELETING all rows below the last row of data,
saving and closing the file. Reopen it and try saving as csv again. Or, copy
and paste the rows containing data into a new workbook and try saving that.

Hi Tim;

Saving the Excel file as a .csv should be as simple as any. I have an Excel
file containing 30 records & when out put to a .csv & imported into Address
Book that's exactly what I get. If you're having different results you'll
have to provide more complete details.

What are the exact versions of your OS X & Office installations?

Describe the nature of your Excel file & the specific steps you're taking to
create the .csv as well as those to get the records into Address Book. Which
..csv format are you using?

Have you tried using Tab Delimited Text instead?... There really is no need
to use the .csv format.

Try "Clear All" over all the areas of the sheet that are not used.
