Is There a Sync Capability For .pst Files?

Through a number of PC crashes and various other problems, I have lost some
important entries from my current Outlook 2003 Contacts List (I have the same
issue with Calendar). I have a number of backup copies of my contacts.pst
file, but some of those were corrupted through various sync programs which
synced with my Palm, Blackberry Motorola handhelds. The problem appears to
be limited to duplication (sometimes multiple dup's) of some contacts.

I would really like to sync all of the disparate versions into a single
pristine Contacts List. I am sure that some of the missing Contacts are
contained in the old backups, so I don't want to just dump them. If I Import
the old files into the current file, I end up with duplicate records, even
with the "Replace duplicates" option checked. Because of the duplication
issues, I don't want to just import the old files into my current file, since
I would end up with 5-6 duplicates of numerous records.

Does anyone know of a tool with functionality similar to Microsoft's Sync
Toy which would allow me to combine (synchronize) multiple .pst files in an
effort to salvage the lost records without creating an unmanagable number of
duplicates?

Please do not multipost.

I assume multipost is asking the same, or similar, question in multiple
places? Is that correct? Sorry, I am new to this type of support and wasn't
sure where to ask for help. Is this "General" area the correct place, or is
my issue better suited to be asked elsewhere?

Any guidance on the correct protocol for this site would be useful, and any
assistance with my problem would be most greatly appreciated.

Has anyone ever had, or heard of, this issue before?

Correct. When someone reads multiposted messages, every message is considered
separate and we all see every copy. When posting with a real newsreader
(unlike the web interface you're using), there is a crosspost option when you
can post the same message in multiple groups simultaneously and those who use
newsreaders to read the newsgroups will see the message only once. Guidelines
for newsgroups state that limited crossposting is acceptable.
Is this "General" area the correct place, or is
my issue better suited to be asked elsewhere?

This seems the most suitable place, but responded one of the other groups.
