Is there a template for index note cards for research papers?

I am writing a dissertation. I would like to replicate on the computer a
note-taking system by creating virtual index cards (4x6 inch). Is there such
a template that I can download? I also welcome any advice on organizing my
files for this project. Thank you.

If you want to print the cards easily, Avery Design Pro has several 4"x6"
templates, it's free from the Avery Website. If you just want to save them
you can simply setup a page size of 4"x6" and store them individually or as
a multipage document.

Yes. ndxCards is designed to support research note taking. Not only can
you take notes - and print it on 4x6 or any size cards, the software
includes cards on references, authors etc. You can assemble note cards
and organize in an outline and export the contents into a draft paper.
It even includes the bibliography based on the sources for the notes.
