Is there a way I can setup outlook 2003 to run in the background

I have A DSL connection I am changing from incredimail to outlook 2003.
Incredimail automatically checks mail and notifies me of new mail even when
it is closed. Is there a way I can configure outlook to run in the background
so it will do the same thing. In actuality outlook would be closed but still
running.
Thank you Whitedove

You can set it to minimize to the systray. This way it will not appear
in the taskbar, nor in the Alt-Tab list.
