Is there a way to bypass the tasks approval process?

1) Project Server 2003: Is there a way to change the settings so that we
don't have to go through the (Project Manager) approval process when creating
a new task through Project Web Access?

2) It takes a long time for a new top outline level task to appear in the
subtask of: list even though I approve and republish right away? Is this
normal?

1. Your PMs can create Rules to automate the task updates approval process,
but the Rules do not run automatically. Your PMs must click the Run Rules
Now button to apply any Rules they have created. I really do not recommend
that your PMs use Rules at all. Your PMs are the only thing that stands
between their Microsoft Project plan and potentially "dirty data" that might
be submitted by a team member. If a PM uses a Rule, that Rule automatically
approves a task update with dirty data, there is no Undo button to reverse
the update after it is too late!

2. I have no way to know whether "a long time" is normal or not. A lot
depends on network factors, the hardware used on your server, etc. Perhaps
someone else has an opinion for you.

Hope this helps.
