Is there a way to paste into a Word or without a OneNote hyperlink

I am very new to OneNote, just starting using it today, and only need it for
one thing right now. I am using it to capture a screen shot, then I need to
paste it into PowerPoint or Word, and I do, but I still have the OneNote page
come up with a hyperlink on it and then I have to delete that each time. Is
there a way to just take my image straight to the program I need to without
creating this hyperlink/image in a separate OneNote window?

Sorry if this isn't very clear - don't quite know how to describe

You could copy the screen clipping only the clipboard and then paste into Word.

Right click the OneNote icon in the system tray (near the clock) and Select
Options | Screen Clipping defaults. Select the option to only copy the image
to the clipboard. Now OneNote won't create the page.

If you want, you can set OneNote to create the page in Unfiled Notes but not
automatically show it. This also copies the image to the clipboard so you
can simply paste into Word. Each option has its own advantages.

To be honest that's the way I always set up my OneNote. I only want the
clipping on the clipboard and I'll go paste it to the OneNote page (or
elsewhere) where I want it. I almost always would have to move the
clipping to the page I wanted it on anyhow, so it's easier for me to just
clip, then go and paste.

Plus I frequently use the OneNote screen clipper to clip from an app and
paste into Word or PowerPoint and never use that content in OneNote at all.

I have been using OneNote for years and use the screen clipping facility the
whole time. It is the best thing about the program and worth the price of
admission all on its own. Whisper it not - but it defeats those websites that
have images you are not allowed to copy! Thank you Microsoft. However, I
never realised that there was an option to copy to the Clipboard only -
making it even more useful. That's the joy of these forums! Even smartarses
like me can keep learning.
