is there a way to permanently change Zoom?

Hello,

I often view documents at a larger magnification, say 150% or so. Is there a
way to make this a default setting?
I know I can select a larger type size as a default and achieve a similar
result, but that's not really what I'm after here. Any suggestions?

Hi Tim,

It should be possible to set this in your Normal template (upon which all
new documents are based unless you specify otherwise).

Navigate to your Normal template. (You don't say what version of Word
you're in please do from now on! so I can't tell you where to look for
Normal, but check here: <http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/BackUpPrefs.htm>).

Then change the zoom to 150% and do a Save. Close Normal and open a new
document. You should be all set.

Tim,

Beth's advice may have provided all you were after, but if you want a button
that you can click to display documents at the percentage zoom you want *in
addition to* new ones, have a look at the notes on the way I use Word,
titled "Bend Word to your Will", downloadable free at
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/WordMac/Bend/BendWord.htm, under the heading
"View the document at 110 per cent".
