Is there a way to protect Slide Master from being modified?

I am trying to design a master template for my department to use throughout.
I can create a template and my employees can use it to create their
presentation. The problem is that they get "creative" and change their
background, put cutesy pictures and stuff that does not really look
professional to present to our clients. Yes, I know that they can put objects
on each individual slide. I never said I was winning this war. But I'll be
happy enough if I can disable their capability to actually go to view/slide
master, etc.

Any comments, suggestions, puns, etc. will be greatly appreciated.
