is there a way to represent non-working time without dates

I have created a master project schedule with approximately 60 sub-projects.
I then resourced my staff of 6. My goal beyond project planning is analyzing
our staffing levels. I am very close and I am currently tweaking working and
non-working times.

I am wondering if there is a generic way to represent non-working
(unavailable) time without assigning specific dates. The only method I have
come up with so far is calculate a percentage based on total working hours
and subtract that time from their available time. I would like to see if
anyone has come up with something more creative.

Eric:
What you did was one way to show "un-availability". Another is to create a
new "project" to show un-available time. Have the project span the time of
all your projects and assign your resources at the percentage you feel they
will not be available. Add this "project" to your master project and you will
have 100% time reflected for all your resources (available and un-available).

This is not a lot different from what you already did except in your case
you have your resources entered across the projects at less than 100%
inrecognition of the un-available time (without actually showing the
un-available time) and this second method shows all work, project and
non-project.

Thanks Roy, I'll try that.
