Is there a way to set global stationary default

I know I can set a default stationary for sections. I want to set it once and
all new Sections use the same stationary.

I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully, there's an answer floating around
here.

Default stationery is dictated by the "...(path)\Microsoft
Office\Templates\1033\ONENOTE\Stationery\BLANK.ONE" file, which contains the
'Default' stationery (the first page tab in that section).

Affects not only current, but all, users if you want to change it.

First (to be on the safe side), copy "BLANK.ONE" to 'My Documents' or other
folder.
Then:
(1) Dbl-click 'blank.one' to open it in OneNote. Modify the 1st page (which
is the Default stationery) to your needs.
(2) Exit OneNote.
(3) Copy the modified version back to "...(path)\Microsoft
Office\Templates\1033\ONENOTE\Stationery\" to overwrite it.
(4) Start OneNote.
(5) Test it out to see if that works!

It didn't work for me. Maybe my question isn't a Stationery question. I
actually like the ruled paper stationary. I just always want it to be letter
sized.

**Addendum:
To automatically show rules with each new note, can just turn on option
under Tools|Options >Display

tested it out 'the BLANK route' myself... seemed logical, but appears
OneNote just auto imitates the same settings as the page you were on when
you create a new one.

Guess have to resort to New... from Stationery & choose Default under Blank
group, or just forego the above & set up page the way you want (don't leave
any setting blank) & Save As Stationery with whatever name you want. Then
you'll have to select that stationery under the 'My Stationery' group. Does
that make sense?
FYI: 'My Stationery' is located in "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates|"

just have to make-do until next release for many desired features,
especially on the customization front!
