is there an add-in for "open office" documents

My daughters school has switched from "Microsoft Office" to "Open Office". I
can't open the document sent from her teacher.

How very considerate of the school :(

I would be tempted to ask the school to send documents in a format that
people in the real world can actually use. Open Office should be capable of
saving in Word or RTF format that Word can open. Alternatively see
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooo-word-filter
