I'd contact MS and order the CD, its free. I am talking about SP2. Go to the
MS websie and there is a number to contact them at. I did that and it
installed with no problems as long as you make sure all the prereqs are
met. See these at the MS website and also eache vendor who's hardware or
software you have. Sorry I do not have the url for you but I know you can
reach it through the update site.

I am in a similar situation. For me, using the Microsoft Office Update
website is not a viable option for large downloads. I need Office 2000 Pro
Service Release 1a or 2 (which includes Service Release 1a) on CD. Office
2000 Service release 3 CD does not include the 1a files, even though they are
required to install Office Service Release 3. I think both of our problems
would be solved with either Office 2000 Service Release 1a or 2 on CD. The
CD's are not available from Microsoft since they are both discontinued.
Anyone know where we can get copies? Is anyone at Microsoft paying
attention? Why is it so hard to keep Microsoft products updated? I can only
speculate. It appears to me that it is part of Microsoft's "prouduct support
life-cycle policy". I think Bill Gates and everyone at Microsoft will be
dissappointed when current Microsoft Office customers switch to
OpenOffice.org instead of buying the latest Microsoft product with the
associated update headaches and the short product life-cycle. Maybe
Microsoft should add Service Release 1a to the Office 2000 Service Pack 3.
Is anyone in Microsoft Office support monitoring this discussion group?
