Hi Gary:
Look up "Tracked Changes" in the Help and see if that will do what you want.
There may be a further topic on how to get "Legal Blacklining", but I don't
think that function has made it into Mac Word yet.
This will maker all changes. DO NOT forget to resolve your changes before
beginning another editing cycle: you can't just keep stacking changes upon
changes without corrupting the document (eventually).
Let me try to clarify that: Say you are editing Issue 1 of a document. You
can continue to mark changes through all the change/review cycles to the end
of Issue 1. But before you begin Issue 2, resolve all the changes and start
afresh.
Also look up "Compare Documents". Many of us (me, for example) prefer to
use Compare Documents to mark all the changes at the end of the editing
process, rather than fiddling around turning Tracked Changes on or off as
required. However, Compare Documents is not suitable in a document with
lots of tables or computed fields: it is inaccurate if the size of a
particular field exceeds 750 characters (e.g. it won't track the changes to
a Table of Contents that has been generated by a field).
Cheers
