Is there any way of putting the date on the bottom of a visio char

I dont need timelines or anything fancy...I just want to put the current date
on the bottom of the document

on the bottom of the document

Just insert some text where you want the date ( or put a shape there
if you want and insert the text in the shape). For the text, do menu
Insert -> Field
and select the date type and format you want.
