Is there any way to see XP formatted comments in Office 2000?

I have received a number of PPT files recently that have
comments formatted in XP. When I open the PPT file in
Office 2000, I can't read the comments. Is there any way
to see XP formatted comments in Office 2000?

I think that they have to be converted in PowerPoint 2002 by the sender.
