Is this a bug - page automatically inserted in Print Preview mode

I have a multi page document.


The first page is a title page - after the title is section break (new
page).

In Print Layout mode the next page is the Table of Contents which has
been generated using the TOC method but in Print Preview the next page
is blank and the subsequent page is the TOC.

In other words an extra page is inserted in Print Preview mode. I
might add an extra page is printed as well.

If I delete the section break between these 2 pages they merge
together and no additional page is inserted, in Print Layout or Print
Preview.

Any hints as to how I might resolve this?

It sounds like the section break was an odd page section break. Use a next
page section break instead.

Odd Page if you have either "Mirror margins" or "Different odd and even"
enabled (and possibly even if you don't); it won't print an odd-numbered
page on the back of a sheet.

enabled (and possibly even if you don't); it won't print an odd-numbered
page on the back of a sheet.

So...the first (Title) page and the TOC where seperate sections - so
that I could norminate different setups, like the heading appearing in
the middle of the page.

I unselected "Mirror margins" or "Different odd and even" on both
pages - still not change. So I replaced the the Section Break with a
Page Break and that is what I believe is called a 'work around'. Took
a little bit of effort to get the title torwards the middle of the
page though. Suzanne was correct ..."(and possibly even if you don't);
it won't print an odd-numbered page on the back of a sheet."

FWIW, unless paper is really tight, I would not consider printing the TOC on
the back of the title page.
