Is this a virus?

I was attempting to repair Office 2003 from the original
cd-rom because Word will not maximize to fill my screen
and I get the following error that prevents me from
repairing or even reinstalling.

Error 1402. Setup cannot open the registrykey
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Multimedia\msacm.imaa
dpcm. Verify that you have sufficeint permissions to
access the registry or contact Microsoft Product Support
Services (PSS) for assistance.

It then tells me how to caontact PSS.

Does anybody have any ideas?

You might want to check your Operating System's security
policy (or your Network access permissions if you're on a
corporate network) - if you're not listed as an
Administrator (Domain or local workstation), you may not
be able to install applications.
