Is this an Access db?

Is this a MicroSoft Access Database?

What do I have to do to retrieve my data (address book and email)
and move them to Outlook?

EMC used to be a very good email program but eventually
Microsoft Outlook caught up and surpassed them. The company behind EMC
is either dead or hybernating. It stores email and address book in
..mdb .mda .ldb files (my mailbox.mdb is 17MB and has about 400
messages) and also uses a large number of files with randomly
generated names; however my attempts to read with MS Access have
failed. There is a web site with supposedly free downloads called
email-connection.com, but the files aren't there.

I found a Russian web site with something:
http://woland.afti.nsu.ru/pub/Windows.95/MailClient/emailcon.3_0/
The reason I suggest checking here is the db files are empty
and won't take as much space/time.

If you still have EMC, export the data to text files or other standard
format and import that to Outlook.

If not, what happens when you ask Access to open the mdb file? What
error messages? Does it make any difference if you delete the ldb file
first? (You do have backup copies of all these files, don't you?)

What version of Access are you using? If you have a current version and
the mdb file is from a very early version of Access/Jet, they may not be
compatible. It's also possible that the data is secured and/or encrypted
inside the mdb file.
