I have posted a question here a few times now and have never had any reply.
My issue concerns (I'm fairly certain) permission issues with an Office 2000
Professional installation under Windows 2000 Professional in a client server
environment.
I have tried the installation from the retail CD, from a copy of the CD on
the server, and from the CD files copied to a folder on the local clients. In
all cases, whenever a student tries to launch one of the Office applications
for the first time, it looks to install...something. Even though, in the case
of the local installation especially, the installation folder is available,
the installation fails and the app won't launch.
Now the really confusing (and frustrating) thing is, if you keep trying,
eventually the app opens!! Sometimes this takes 3-5 tries, but then it comes
up.
Can anyone at all shed some light on what I am overlooking?
