Is Visio 2007 fully compatiable with MircoSoft Office 2000 on XP

I am looking to buy Visio, currently have Microsoft Office 2000 on XP and
will be doing Web/SQLServer development work. Can I successfully use Visio
2007 or do I need to step down to Visio 2000 or some other version?
