Is Visio Pro 5.0 compatible with Visio Std 2003?

I have a user with Visio Professional 5.0 that received a document from a
user who created a Visio document in Visio Standard 2003 and could not edit
the document. I would assume this is a compatibilty issue and can the user
with Visio 2003 save it in an earlier version

you assume correctly visio reads down-level versions, not up...
v2003 can save as v2000/v2002, v5 is too far for it to reach. However if you
have a user with v2000, it can save as v5.
