Is Word 97 compatible with Windows XP?

Whenever I type a document in Word, the drop down menus
suddenly appear for no reason and some of the letters skip
while I'm typing. I am also unable to right click
anything. I scanned my computer for viruses and it is not
infected. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Word
97 but the problem still exists. Perhaps Word 97 is not
compatible with Windows XP?

Word 97 works fine on Windows XP, or at least as well as it worked on
Windows 98. Do you have voice recognition turned on in Windows XP?
